The challenge
The Belgian town of Diegem, situated close to Brussels Airport, is home to a central hub of corporate and creative entrepreneurship called Greenhouse BXL. This office complex was recently renovated and transformed into an innovative and interactive business hub. For the renovation, the complex received 109 m² of indoor and 161 m² of outdoor green façade cladding from Sempergreen. Intervest consciously opted for the green façade system from Sempergreen following good experiences with a previous assignment for Greenhouse Antwerp. HB Watertechnologie designed and installed the irrigation system.
Our approach
The SemperGreenwalls used are equipped with an intelligent irrigation system (type iMC Box). This web-based control programme facilitates the supply of the appropriate volume of moisture and nutrients for the plants. The programme remotely monitors the green walls, ensuring that they remain lush and green throughout the year. Moreover, the system for the outdoor green wall includes frost protection. The irrigation method specified by HB Watertechnologie consists of the latest technology in the area of integrated nutrient feeding systems and remotely controlled measuring and regulation techniques – the iMC Box.
The result
A spectacular SemperGreenwall that can be monitored remotely thanks to the various sensors. HB Watertechnologie also carries out the complete maintenance of the irrigation system, ensuring consistent quality.
